My name is Chris Allen and I'm a musician.

My favorite moment while playing is when I'm able to play a great lick that I haven't been able to play in the past.  Also when I see people dance uncontrollably.

Who are you and what do you do?

Shana Blake, a native Charlottean and vocalist at Church of the Beloved for over 5 years.  I'm learning the bass, poco y poco for the gal band I sing with "The Near Misses".  I also sing in the "fusegrass" band, Candlewyck and in the Tosco Music Party Singalong Choir.  I do weddings, funerals, soundalikes, all sorts of recording.  If it's vocals you want, chances are I'm willing...

Name an interesting hobby that you like to do now, or have done in the past.

I worked for Monkey Business Singing Telegrams, mostly doing clowning and face painting, although I did a few telegrams.  I'd actually like to get back into it.  Good times...

I'm still waiting for my favorite bass moment...  Vocally, it was singing my song "This is your Day" at the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure, surrounded by incredible women holding pink balloons, which they released at the end of the song.  I am so blessed!

What is the biggest crowd you have played in front of?

When I sang with the Continental Singers, we did our finale show at a big Denver arena and there were tens of thousands in the crowd.  Then again, there were a couple hundred of us performers...
